Jackery Introduces Solar Generator 2000 Plus: A Portable Power Station with Expandable Capacity

Sep 28, 2023Sep 28, 2023

Jackery has launched its latest product, the Jackery Solar Generator 2000 Plus, which allows customers to extend the utility and capacity of the system after purchase. This new offering is a kit consisting of Jackery’s Explorer 2000 Plus Portable Power Station and one or more of its 200 watt SolarSaga panels.

The Jackery Solar Generator 2000 Plus is housed in the same external case as the Explorer 3000 Pro, but has some differences that set it apart. One notable feature is the pair of expansion ports, which allow users to add up to 24 kilowatt-hours of storage capacity. This capacity is equivalent to many home backup batteries and surpasses any other portable power station available.

To add additional capacity, customers can purchase extra battery packs that come in two kilowatt-hour increments. The Jackery Battery Pack 2000 Plus units can be purchased individually or as part of a bundle with the initial purchase. Prices for individual battery packs start at $1599, with slightly lower prices available in bundles. Jackery also offers a 24 kilowatt-hour bundle that includes two base stations, 10 additional battery packs, and six 200 watt folding solar panels for $22,499.

In addition to the expandable capacity, the Solar Generator 2000 Plus boasts 6,000 watts of peak power output, making it suitable for powering a wide range of appliances and devices. When paired with Jackery’s 200 watt SolarSaga panels, the system can recharge in approximately seven hours from solar power in ideal conditions.

The Solar Generator 2000 Plus is designed for stationary applications, but can also be used for RV or van life power systems. It features an extending handle and wheels for easy transport, but care must be taken due to its weight of 61.5 pounds.

The unit can be recharged using a 12V automotive outlet, but users should confirm their vehicle’s capability before using it for an extended period. Additionally, it can be powered by a standard AC plug, with a maximum pull of 1,800 watts or a real-world charge rate of around 1,500 watts.

In real-world testing, the Jackery Explorer 2000 Plus proved to be reliable and capable of powering various power tools throughout the day. It is also suitable for RV owners, although it should be noted that the unit’s outlet does not output 240 volts.

Overall, the Jackery Solar Generator 2000 Plus offers expandable capacity and high power output, making it a versatile and reliable portable power station option.
